Hi, I'm Mark Kuerschner aka KidMarkie, designer, art director, illustrator and custom car enthusiast. Originally hailing from Adelaide, South Australia, I spent a semi reckless childhood dividing my time between rebuilding and destroying bikes, skateboarding— and a lot of drawing. Later, the drawing part got me into college, followed by stints at several of Adelaide’s finest ad agencies and design studios. In 1997 good fortune (or dumb luck) took me to San Francisco, where after a couple of wide eyed and slack jawed years experiencing my new city, I co-founded Popgun Design, a studio specializing in the hospitality, toy and video game industries. In the twin roles of creative director and studio handyman, I have directed, designed and illustrated many projects for clients such as Electronic Arts, Mattel, Disney, Salon.com, Beringer Blass Wines, UbiSoft Entertainment, NCSoft, Nexon M, Boston Properties, Personality Hotels, Bonny Doon, Tommy’s Margarita Inc., Sony Computer Entertainment America, Red Octane, Chevys Fresh Mex, Tres Agaves, Grant Burge Wines, Daqri, Atlassian and Pluralsight. Going solo in 2017, my influences still include old mechanical and wheeled things, vintage illustration and typography— and you're just as likely to find me under the hood of my 1950 Chevy Fleetline as behind a monitor, stylus in hand, trying to keep my pesky daughters at arms length.
