I was stoked to be part of the first food collaboration between Roots percussionist, Questlove and Williams Sonoma —packaging a range of three flavored popcorn seasonings. Outside of his many musical accomplishments, Questlove is an avid moviegoer and has been creating his own popcorn seasonings forever. Now he's sharing his creations with the world via Williams Sonoma. Although the packaging changed in the final stages, I produced the illustrations and led design development.
Illustration inspiration included sources such as Andy Warhol's bold silkscreen prints, 1950's style repeating wallpaper patterns, collage and vintage cereal packaging.
Several type lock-ups were created and different nomenclatures trialed.
